WELCOME
As sports therapists, we have had the pleasure to work with some amazing athletes from a variety of sports from elite to recreational level and as a result have a detailed understanding of what it takes to prepare for your ski holiday to ensure you can make the most of that precious time.
We have formulated a six-week programme which includes exercises, techniques and methods which have been used at a base level with GB snowboard athletes in preparation for a return to snow.
THE INGREDIENTS
Each week has been planned to provide a gradual progression from a solid base level of fitness to snow fit, with video links included within the programme to ensure the exercises are undertaken with the correct form.
THE RECIPE
These sessions should be completed 3-4 times a week, with a good warm up and stretching routine before hand.
Start this programme 7 weeks before your trip to the slopes, with gradual progressions you should find in 6 weeks time some vast improvements in fitness.
THE RESULTS
This programme has tried, and tested methods designed to ensure you are ski ready to gain maximum enjoyment out of your holiday and help to reduce injuries on the slopes.
KIT NEEDED
The programmes are designed to use as little equipment as possible, where needed a small set of mini bands and balance board and maybe some weights although a rucksack full of books, bricks or water bottles will be sufficient.
