In sports massage we use a range of techniques to influence the soft tissue to aid someone preparing for a sporting event, to prevent muscles from becoming tight and sore, or to help recover from an injury. Exercises and stretches can benefit your recovery after a massage which will be provided during a session at Optimum.

Each technique in sports massage has a different affect on the body. At Optimum, sports massage can increase muscle flexibility, reduce muscle tension, improve the range of movement on joints, and give a psychological boost to the you afterwards. Sports massage is as useful  before or after a sporting event, just to keep fit and prevent muscles from becoming tight and sore, or to help recover from an injury.

Anyone can receive a sports massage weather you are a top-level athlete, someone who has a physically demanding job or you have just had an injury in your day-to-day life that needs some attention, the effects are still the same. The main target for a sports massage is to help you with any muscle pains, aches and knots to help you return to your original posture.
